Sweden - Consumer Conditions in Sweden - a report

For the second consecutive year the Swedish Consumer Agency has published the Swedish Consumer Report which highlights the markets which create problems for consumers and describe the most important conditions that enable consumers to act. The 2014 report had a special focus on telesales and cold calling as a sales channel. Approximately one in every six complaints to the Swedish Consumer Agency concerns telephone sales. The Report also provides a snapshot of the consumer situation in 45 markets. A key input is data on consumer complaints as well as notifications concerning breaches of consumer protection legislation. However, this provides only a limited picture of the situation for consumers in different markets. We therefore complement the picture with our annual Consumer Market Survey and also take into consideration the economic importance of markets for households.
