Catch up on the FTC’s most relevant activities through the International Monthly newsletter.  The March issue summarizes recent consumer protection enforcement actions including a settlement with a marketer of “detox” teas that was charged it misled consumers and did not adequately disclose payments to social media influencers. It also includes announcements of the FTC and FDA sending  warning letters to seven companies about unsupported claims that products can treat or prevent Coronavirus; the first round of money refunds totaling $153 million sent to consumers from the multi-agency case against Western Union; and the release of the FTC annual privacy update for 2019, highlighting record fines and international cooperation.
