The purpose of London Action Plan is to promote international spam enforcement cooperation and address unwanted email-related problems, such as online fraud and deception, phishing, and dissemination of viruses.
This informal initiative does not intend to create new legally binding obligations, but aims to fight against cybercrime activities. The initiative comprises over 70 members from 27 countries including public enforcers, regulators and industry. The EU, OECD, ITU, ICPEN, and APEC have observer status.
The participating institutions representing a public-private dialogue meet regularly to exchange developments on enforcement actions, statistics and trends, joint consumer and business education projects. They also use best efforts to share relevant findings with other appropriate international initiatives.
