About ICPEN/RICPC
The International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network
(ICPEN) is a network of governmental organizations involved in
the enforcement of fair trade practice laws and other consumer
protection activities.
Membership in the Network includes organizations from 38
countries. Delegates from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada,
Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Ireland,
Japan, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden,
Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States
established the Network in 1992, with participation from
representatives of the OECD and the EU. Greece, Italy, and
Luxemburg joined shortly thereafter. Mexico became a member of
the Network in 1994, and Malta, Korea, Poland, Slovakia, and
the Czech Republic joined in 1996, Latvia and Estonia in 2002
and Lithuania in 2003. Chile became a member in 2005. The
newest ICPEN members are Azerbaijan and China, who were
granted full membership at the latest Warsaw conference in
October 2006. |
